Welcome to the ISV Resource Centre

The ISV Resource Centre has been created by Grey Matter as part of a joint project with Oracle to provide the UK ISV community with information, guidance and advice. The portal allows you to explore the benefits of adopting Oracle technologies as part of your ISV solution. It also provides resources to help you through the technology evaluation, development and deployment phases. These include articles, white papers, tutorials and case studies.  We are also able to provide free guidance in a number of areas such as Oracle on Windows, licensing etc.

Purpose

The ISV Resource Centre pulls together a variety of otherwise disparate resources for Oracle ISVs to provide information focus.  The resources include articles, white papers, tutorials, case studies, news, details of events, forums and in some cases, managed assistance.

Part of our mission is to help you realise the full potential and growth opportunities that Oracle makes available to ISVs. To balance the content,  we also look beyond the pure technology issues to help you better understand the environments and markets in which your application will be deployed.  Read the press release...

Is the ISV Resource Centre for you?

If you are an ISV, or thinking of becoming one, this portal is for you whether or not you are currently working with Oracle technology.  Many of the obstacles that discourage the deployment of mixed technologies are disappearing with the wider adoption of open standards.  Whether you are proactively trying to access new markets where Oracle is being deployed or responding to an Oracle users interest in your application, it is important you have access to material that covers topics such as portability, migration and Service Orientated Architecture. This site provides these materials via articles, tutorials and case studies to help you respond to customer requirements and gain competitive edge.  We can also point you in the direction of special facilities and laboratories for testing and demonstrating your applications.  The portal also offers a free managed evaluation program for serious projects that will be using Oracle technologies for the first time.  The portal will allow you to share your experiences and connect with others via an ISV directory and showcase page that will be launched shortly.

Who is running the ISV Resource Centre and why?

The Centre is an Oracle funded initiative aimed at providing a focused, friendly and interactive portal for Oracle ISVs.  To this end, Grey Matter was asked to put the Centre together and to oversee the day to day running of it.

Grey Matter is one of the UKs leading resellers of developer tools and is highly regarded for it's understanding of the developer community.  Grey Matter already runs the Oracle on Windows Zone that provides information for .NET developers writing and deploying applications on Oracle.  In time, it is anticipated that other third parties may participate in the project.

Can you help?

We encourage users to play an active role in running the Centre.  If you are able to assist by providing articles, case studies or helping others in need of assistance via the forums, please contact us.

Please register

Please register as a user of this site as this will help us in a number of ways:

* We can serve the ISV community better if we know a little about the projects being worked on and issues involved.  It will help us tailor content accordingly.
* We can identify those with important issues and deadlines for the purposes of providing assistance via our Managed Evaluation Program or escalation processes.
* We might need to restrict access or exercise some control over the use of more advanced or sensitive information to those that have provided further background.
* Membership data will help us measure the relevance and importance of the site over time.
* We need a certain amount of detail for those that opt-in for additional communications.

The registration and login modules appear at the top righthand corner of the page.

The registration link can be found at the top right hand of each page.  For further information about why we ask you to register, please select the 'Register with the ISV Resource Centre' tab above.

Explore the resources

We have divided the resources into several categories; Technology, Go to Market and Licensing.  Technology deals with all aspects of the development, migration, integration and deployment of a solution.  The technology resources cover both Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware. Go to Market deals with the delivery phase of the project and marketing.  A special category of resources is also provided specifically for the sometimes confusing subject of licensing.  Please use the top menu bar to access these Resources.

Become an Oracle Partner

Some of the resources are only available to existing members of the Oracle Partner Network.  If you wish to find out more about partner benefits, please select 'Become an Oracle Partner' from the menu to the left or Sign-up now.  You may also use e-mail to contact the Oracle Partner Network Interaction Centre
