Welcome to the ISV Resource Centre
The ISV Resource Centre has been created by Grey Matter as part of a joint project with Oracle to provide the UK ISV community with information, guidance and advice. The portal allows you to explore the benefits of adopting Oracle technologies as part of your ISV solution. It also provides resources to help you through the technology evaluation, development and deployment phases. These include articles, white papers, tutorials and case studies. We are also able to provide free guidance in a number of areas such as Oracle on Windows, licensing etc.
Please use the index to the left for further information about the Resource Centre, the benefits, how to register and become an Oracle partner.
Purpose
The ISV Resource Centre pulls together a variety of otherwise disparate resources for Oracle ISVs to provide information focus. The resources include articles, white papers, tutorials, case studies, news, details of events, forums and in some cases, managed assistance.
Part of our mission is to help you realise the full potential and growth opportunities that Oracle makes available to ISVs. To balance the content, we also look beyond the pure technology issues to help you better understand the environments and markets in which your application will be deployed. Read the press release...
Is the site for you?
If you are an ISV, or thinking of becoming one, this site is for you whether or not you are currently working with Oracle technology. We aim to help you evaluate the use of Oracle and provide numerous resources for this, including a free managed evaluation program.
If you are already working with Oracle technologies, the site is a one-stop shop for all ISV related information covering technology, news, events, marketing and engagement. The site allows you to share your experiences and learn from others.
Who is running the ISV Resource Centre and why?
The Centre is an Oracle funded initiative aimed at providing a focused, friendly and interactive portal for Oracle ISVs. To this end, Grey Matter was asked to put the Centre together and to oversee the day to day running of it.
Grey Matter is one of the UKs leading resellers of developer tools and is highly regarded for it's understanding of the developer community. Grey Matter already runs the Oracle on Windows Zone that provides information for .NET developers writing and deploying applications on Oracle.
In time, it is anticipated that other third parties may participate in the project.
Can you help?
We encourage users to play an active role in running the Centre. If you are able to assist by providing articles, case studies or helping others in need of assistance via the forums, please contact us.
We aim to help ISVs locate information about Oracle technology and to guide them through solution development and deployment
Many of the obstacles that discourage the deployment of mixed technologies are disappearing with the wider adoption of open standards. Whether you are proactively trying to access new markets where Oracle is being deployed or responding to an Oracle users interest in your application, it is important you have access to material that covers topics such as portability, migration and Service Orientated Architecture. This site provides these materials via articles, tutorials and case studies to help you respond to customer requirements and gain competitive edge. We can also point you in the direction of special facilities and laboratories for testing and demonstrating your application.
The portal itself will also offer ISVs the opportunity to showcase projects they are working on. To encourage this, we will be introducing features such as ISV InFocus, ISV of the month and Introduce a partner.
Please register
Please register as a user of this site as this will help us in a number of ways:
We can serve the ISV community better if we know a little about the projects being worked on and issues involved. It will help us tailor content accordingly.
We can identify those with important issues and deadlines for the purposes of providing assistance via our Managed Evaluation Program or escalation processes.
We might need to restrict access or exercise some control over the use of more advanced or sensitive information to those that have provided further background.
Membership data will help us measure the relevance and importance of the site over time.
We need a certain amount of detail for those that opt-in for additional communications.
The registration and login modules appear at the top righthand corner of the page.
The Oracle Partner Network
The Oracle Partner Network (OPN) is the programme through which Oracle engages with all its partners, including Independent Software Vendors. There are over 15,000 partners worldwide, with close to 5000 ISV partners in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. In the UK, over 800 of these are members of OPN. As a member of OPN, you will have full access to all components of the programme which includes the OPN Interaction Centre, where a team of people are on hand to take your call and assist with partner enquiries. There is also a comprehensive web portal which contains all the information partners need - from education, development and technology to marketing and sales.

Welcome BEA Developers
With the recent acquistion of BEA, Oracle brings together two companies with many synergies, including a common vision for advancing an open-standards, service-oriented architecture infrastructure, the Java community and more. The combined middleware R&D efforts and synergies with Oracle Database and Oracle Applications will bring many benefits to BEA developers and their customers.
The ISV Resource Centre welcomes BEA developers. If you are a BEA developer, please use the Centre to get up to speed with Oracle technology, licensing and partner benefits. In the months ahead, we will be adding content about BEA technology and focussing on how these integrate with the Oracle stack and provide opportunities for ISVs.
